Education
Elementary Education majors complete more than 96 hours of fieldwork and two semesters of full-time teaching residencies. These classroom experiences provide opportunities to apply educational theory, develop instructional skills, and gain confidence working with diverse learners.
Students also have opportunities to teach in both public and private schools, as well as participate in international teaching experiences.
Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Clinical Mental Health Counseling students apply learned counseling knowledge in clinical settings through two hands-on, face-to-face experiential opportunities. These courses are designed to meet Florida’s Mental Health Counseling licensing requirements.
In the Practicum course, students work alongside an on-site licensed mental health professional and a university supervisor to complete a minimum of 100 clock hours, of which at least 40 hours must be direct service.
Students further develop skills and experience in a two-semester internship requiring over 600+ clock hours, including a minimum of 240 hours of direct service. Review the full practicum and internship course requirements.
Health and Human Performance
Health and Human Performance students gain experience in health, fitness, rehabilitation, and human performance settings.
